2 Chronicles Chapter 34

2 Chronicles 34 — The Book Found Again

After Manasseh’s night (ch. 33), this is dawn by the Word. The king does what Deuteronomy 17 required—brings Scripture to the center—and renews covenant for all. Archaeology nods: bullae bearing names from Shaphan’s circle (Jeremiah’s era) remind us this scribal world was real. Theologically: the Word reforms, humility receives mercy; yet only Christ finally bears the curse (Galatians 3:13) and writes the law on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33).

Cross‑references: Deuteronomy 17:18–20; 2 Kings 22; Hebrews 4:12; James 1:22.

Hymn: O Word of God Incarnate.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, tender our hearts to your Word. Give us courage to tear down idols, integrity to rebuild, and grace to renew our vows. Let reform begin in us today. Amen.
